What is filed here

Which companies use this office

Most northern FDI files pass through here: the electronics clusters in Bac Ninh and Thai Nguyen, the automotive cluster in Phu Tho, the port economy of Hai Phong and representative offices in Hanoi itself. Companies with plants in several provinces usually file centrally here rather than province by province.

Practical tips

  • Monday mornings and the days after long holidays are the busiest — go mid-week.
  • First-time sponsors must complete form NA16 before filing NA2; not the same day.
  • Bring originals and copies of corporate documents for on-the-spot checking.
  • Only the 2026 templates are accepted — see Circular 70/2026.

When the provincial office is faster

Individual sponsors and single-site companies are often quicker at the Hanoi provincial immigration office. See how authority is divided.
