How to Fill In Form NA2 (Entry Approval Request)

Form NA2 is how a Vietnamese entity asks the Immigration Department to approve the entry of named foreigners. Since 1 July 2026 only the template issued with Circular 70/2026/TT-BCA is accepted.

Form NA2 is the letter from a company or organisation in Vietnam asking the Immigration Department to approve a foreigner's entry – this is how a visa approval ("entry") letter is obtained. The new version was issued with Circular 70/2026/TT-BCA and applies from 1 July 2026.

Which language to fill in: This official form exists only in Vietnamese and must be completed in Vietnamese (foreigners' names in CAPITAL LETTERS as in the passport). This guide explains each field in English so you or your company can fill it in correctly – a translated form will not be accepted.

Supporting documents and where to submit

The company must already have registered its seal and signature specimen (form NA16) with the immigration authority.
A copy of the foreigner's passport data page.
Submit at the Immigration Department (Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang), by public postal service, or online on the Ministry of Public Security public service portal (for organisations with an account).

Common mistakes that get applications returned

The company has not registered its seal/signature (NA16), so the file is not accepted.
Purpose of entry does not match the company's business lines.
Empty items not crossed out with a slash.
The signatory is not the registered legal representative.

Who signs

The legal representative or the person registered on form NA16, with the company seal. A signature from anyone else is refused, even if they are senior.

Section by section

Sponsor details: company name, address and tax code exactly as on the enterprise registration certificate — using the current administrative name after the provincial merger.
Applicant list: full name, date of birth, nationality, passport number and type, copied character by character from the passport.
Purpose and visa symbol: DL, DN, LD, DT or TT. The purpose must match the symbol; “business meeting” with an LD request will be questioned.
Duration and entries: the period requested and single or multiple entry.
Entry date and gate: entering before this date is not permitted.
Where the visa is collected: the border gate, or the exact Vietnamese embassy or consulate.

Group applications

One NA2 can list several people travelling for the same purpose, entering at the same gate and collecting at the same place. Cheaper and faster than separate filings.
