A visa run means leaving Vietnam and re-entering straight away to start a new period of stay (on a new e-visa or under visa exemption). Why Moc Bai border gate?
Moc Bai international border gate is about 70 km from central HCMC on Highway 22, a 2–2.5 hour drive. It is the largest land border in southern Vietnam, open 6:00–22:00 every day, accepts Vietnam e-visas, and the Cambodian side (Bavet) issues visas on arrival. That makes Moc Bai the fastest and cheapest visa run for anyone around HCMC. Alternatives such as other Cambodian border gates or a visa run by air usually cost more time and money.
