Approval Letter for an Investor Visa DT: Conditions and Documents
This page covers the investor category (DT). See all categories in Vietnam visa types explained.
Who qualifies
Foreigners contributing capital to a Vietnamese company, or acting as the authorised representative of a foreign corporate shareholder. The symbol and the validity follow the capital contributed, not the size of the company.
| Symbol | Capital contribution | Maximum validity |
|---|---|---|
| DT1 | From 100 billion VND, or a prioritised sector or area | 5 years |
| DT2 | From 50 to under 100 billion VND | 5 years |
| DT3 | From 3 to under 50 billion VND | 3 years |
| DT4 | Under 3 billion VND | 12 months |
Documents
- Form NA2 signed and sealed by the company
- Investment registration certificate and enterprise registration certificate naming the investor
- Evidence of the capital contribution — charter, capital confirmation or bank records where requested
- Form NA16 if the company has not registered its seal and signature
- Passport bio page scan, valid at least six months
Two things that get DT files returned
- The capital figure on the certificate does not match the symbol requested
- Foreign corporate documents not consularly legalised and translated — see legalisation
Next step for long stays: the DT residence card, available from DT3 upwards. Filing steps: DT process.
