Info Travel obtains Lao tourist visas (30 days, single entry) for foreigners in Vietnam before they cross a land border into Laos such as Lao Bao, Cau Treo, Tay Trang or Bo Y, so you do not depend on a visa on arrival. Processing takes 5–7 working days and the all-in fee is 140 USD, covering our service fee and the visa fee. You send your original passport and get it back with the Lao visa sticker.

When should you get a Lao visa in advance?
- Crossing at a smaller gate where the Lao side may not issue visas on arrival: Tay Trang, Bo Y, Na Meo, Nam Can, Cha Lo, La Lay.
- Your nationality is not eligible for a visa on arrival, or you want certainty before travelling.
- Travelling in a group, by international bus or on a visa run to Laos and you do not want to queue for a visa at the border.
- The Lao e-visa is generally not accepted at land borders with Vietnam, so a visa sticker is the safe choice.
Who does not need a Lao visa?
ASEAN citizens and some nationalities such as Japan, South Korea, Russia and Switzerland are visa-exempt for short stays in Laos. Send us your nationality and we will check for free before you apply.
How to apply
- Send your passport photo, nationality, planned crossing date and border gate via Zalo/WhatsApp.
- We check eligibility and confirm the 140 USD fee and hand-over schedule.
- You hand over your original passport and photos; we fill in the form and submit.
- After 5–7 working days you receive your passport with the Lao visa.
- Cross the border on your own or with Info Travel’s visa run transfer.
Important notes
- While processing, your passport is held by the Lao diplomatic mission, so you cannot do anything that requires it (domestic flights, checking in to a new hotel). Plan accordingly.
- Your Vietnam visa or visa-exempt stay must remain valid while you wait; do not overstay.
- If you will return to Vietnam, prepare a Vietnam e-visa naming the gate you return through.
- The visa is valid from the dates printed on it; tell us your travel date so we can advise when to apply.
Combine with other services
- Visa run transfers from Da Nang, Hue and Hoi An to Lao Bao and from Vinh to Cau Treo: see the nationwide visa run service.
- A Vietnam e-visa to return, with an urgent service.
