Vietnam Visa Fees 2026: Government Fees and Service Costs
A single-entry Vietnam visa costs 25 USD and a multiple-entry visa costs 50 to 155 USD depending on validity. The same rates apply to the Vietnam e-visa: 25 USD single entry, 50 USD multiple entry. These government fees are set by Circular 28/2026/TT-BTC of the Ministry of Finance, in force since 1 April 2026, which replaced Circular 25/2021/TT-BTC and Circular 62/2023/TT-BTC. Vietnam visa fees 2026
The Vietnam visa fee depends only on the number of entries and the validity of the visa, not on your nationality or the purpose of your trip. A tourist visa (DL) and a work visa (LD1) for a single entry both cost 25 USD. Official rates under Circular 28/2026/TT-BTC:

If you plan to stay longer than a year, a temporary residence card is usually cheaper than repeated visa extensions.
How and where to pay the visa fee
- E-visa: paid online by card when you submit the application on the official e-visa portal of the Vietnam Immigration Department.
- Visa on arrival: paid at the airport landing visa counter, in cash (US dollars recommended).
- Visa or card issued inside Vietnam: paid at the Immigration Department or the provincial immigration office when you collect the result, or online when filing through the National Public Service Portal.
- Embassy visa: paid as instructed by the embassy or consulate.
Fees are collected in US dollars or the equivalent in Vietnamese dong at the exchange rate on the day of payment.
Who is exempt, and when fees are refunded
Fee exemptions under Circular 28/2026/TT-BTC mainly cover state guests, holders of diplomatic privileges and immunities, people entering for humanitarian relief work, and certain cases on foreign-affairs or security grounds. Ordinary tourists, business visitors, workers, investors and family visitors pay the full fee.
If an application is refused because the applicant is not eligible, the government fee is refunded. It is not refunded if the applicant declines to accept the result.

No. Citizens of visa-exempt countries pay no visa fee for stays within the exemption period. A 5-year visa exemption certificate for people of Vietnamese origin and their family costs 20 USD for the first issue and 10 USD for each later issue.
