Approval Letter for a DN Business Visa: Conditions and Documents
This page lists the conditions and documents for the DN category. The filing timeline is covered in the DN process guide; general approval letter steps are here.
Conditions
- The sponsor is a Vietnamese entity in lawful operation — enterprise, branch, representative office or project office.
- The visit is for business purposes without a Vietnamese labour contract: meetings, negotiation, market survey, project supervision, equipment installation or warranty work.
- The passport is valid at least six months beyond the intended entry.
- The company has form NA16 on file with the Immigration Department.
Documents from the sponsoring company
| Document | Notes |
|---|---|
| Form NA2 | Current template since 1 July 2026; signed and sealed |
| Enterprise registration certificate | Copy; address must match the current administrative name |
| Form NA16 | First-time sponsors, or after a change of seal, legal representative or address |
| Project or contract documents | Only if the immigration officer asks, for large groups or unusual durations |
Documents from the traveller
- Passport bio page scan — clear, all four corners visible
- Intended entry date and requested duration
- Entry gate or the embassy where the visa will be collected
Duration granted
DN visas run up to 12 months. Whether you receive 1, 3, 6 or 12 months depends on the justification in the file and the company profile; first-time sponsors are commonly granted three months, extended later with form NA5.
Where DN stops
DN does not permit employment and does not lead to a residence card. If the person will be employed, plan for a work permit and an LD visa from the start — converting later costs a second filing.
Service fee from 2,500,000 VND. Fee table.
