Extending a DN Business Visa in Vietnam

This page covers extending the DN business category. Service and pricing: visa extension service.

Who can extend

Only a Vietnamese entity can sponsor a DN extension — the same company that invited the person, or another company that takes over sponsorship with its own NA16 on file.

Documents

  • Form NA5 signed and sealed
  • Enterprise registration certificate
  • Form NA16 if not already filed or if details changed
  • Original passport, valid 30+ days beyond the requested period
  • Temporary residence declaration

How long

Up to 12 months in total across extensions. First-time sponsors are commonly granted three months at a time; longer periods are approved once there is a filing history.

When DN stops being the right answer

DN does not allow employment and does not lead to a residence card. If the person is in fact employed — salary from the Vietnamese entity, fixed role, ongoing presence — switch to a work permit and an LD visa, then a two-year card. Labour inspections look at substance, not the visa symbol.

Service from 2,800,000 VND. Checklist: extension documents.
