Taking the Vietnamese A2 Motorbike Licence Test as a Foreigner
Class A2 covers motorbikes above 175cc in Vietnam. Foreigners who cannot exchange a foreign licence — because the class does not exist at home, the licence has expired, or they never held one — take the Vietnamese test instead.
Eligibility
- Legal residence in Vietnam with a reasonable remaining stay — typically at least three months on a visa or residence card
- Health certificate issued by an approved hospital
- Minimum age and fitness requirements as for Vietnamese applicants
Documents
- Passport with valid visa or residence card, plus notarised translation
- Health certificate
- Application form and photos
- Temporary residence declaration confirming your address
The test

Test materials and instructions are in Vietnamese; some centres provide English versions of the question bank, which is worth checking before enrolling.
Exchange instead, if you can
