Embassy of Kuwait in Hanoi: Address, Contacts 2026

The Embassy of Kuwait in Hanoi is the State of Kuwait’s point of contact in Vietnam; Google Maps now shows it at Villa A1, 73 Van Bao (Ngoc Ha Ward), phone +84 24 3848 9955, open Monday–Friday 09:00–16:00 – different from the older address, 10 Le Hong Phong, in our previous records, so call to confirm before going. Wikipedia’s list of missions records the Kuwaiti Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City as closed in 2024, so Kuwaitis in the south will likely also need the embassy. Its email could not be verified. Info Travel supports Kuwaiti nationals in Vietnam with visas, residence cards, legalisation and translations – WhatsApp +84327828822.

Consular services for Kuwaiti citizens

Kuwait’s foreign-ministry site could not be reached while we prepared this article, so the list below is general guidance only – check with the embassy first:

  • Assistance to Kuwaiti citizens in trouble (lost documents, accidents, hospitalisation).
  • Travel documents to return home after a passport loss.
  • Document attestation and signature certification for citizens.
  • Legalisation of Vietnamese documents for use in Kuwait (if offered).
  • Kuwait visas for Vietnamese citizens (many categories are now applied for online through Kuwaiti systems).

Before you visit

  • Don’t go to the old address: many directories still list 10 Le Hong Phong, while Google Maps points to Villa A1, 73 Van Bao – call +84 24 3848 9955 to confirm the location and whether you need an appointment.
  • Bring your passport or ID; if it was lost, bring the police report.
  • Holidays: closed on Vietnamese and Kuwaiti holidays, including Islamic holidays that move with the lunar calendar.
  • Dress modestly when visiting a diplomatic mission.
  • Van Bao is a small street in the diplomatic area near Lieu Giai; give the taxi driver “73 Van Bao” and look for the sign at the villa gate.
  • Hours may be shorter during Ramadan and Islamic holidays – call ahead at those times.

What foreigners most often need when they contact the Embassy of Kuwait

These are the situations we see most often among our clients:

  • Passport lost or stolen: start with a police loss report. With it, the Embassy of Kuwait can consider issuing an emergency travel document or a replacement passport. The new document carries no Vietnamese visa, so you will need a new visa or an exit visa before going to the airport – see exit procedures for foreigners.
  • Passport validity running short: Vietnamese authorities require enough remaining validity to issue a temporary residence card or a visa extension. After renewal, the visa or card has to be moved to the new passport.
  • Personal-status documents: proof of marital status to marry a Vietnamese citizen, birth documents for a child born in Vietnam, degrees and police records for a work permit.
  • Notarising signatures on declarations and powers of attorney for use in Kuwait.
  • Citizen registration and overseas voting.

Help with Kuwaiti passports in Vietnam

There is no verified information that the Embassy of Kuwait in Hanoi issues or renews passports locally. Where it does not, citizens usually renew in Kuwait or through another mission, and request a return travel document after a loss.

Info Travel covers the Vietnamese side: police loss report, exit visa or new visa, transferring your visa or temporary residence card to a new passport, and a visa extension while you wait. We also help with translations, photos and contacting the embassy – within what the embassy permits.

Consular legalisation, consular certification (Ministry of Foreign Affairs stamp) and notarised translation

For a foreign document to be valid in Vietnam (and vice versa) it normally has to pass through a certification and legalisation chain, unless an international treaty exempts it. There are two directions:

a) Documents issued in Kuwait for use in Vietnam

The document is certified by the competent authority in Kuwait and legalised by the Vietnamese embassy or consulate there; or – if the Embassy of Kuwait certifies documents (ask first) – certification there followed by legalisation at the Consular Department of Vietnam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Hanoi or the HCMC Department of Foreign Affairs. The legalised original then needs a notarised translation into Vietnamese.

b) Vietnamese documents for use in Kuwait

Vietnamese documents (degrees, police records, birth or marriage certificates…) receive consular certification at the Consular Department or the HCMC Department of Foreign Affairs, then legalisation at the Embassy of Kuwait if it offers this service (confirm with the mission), together with a suitable translation.

Note: Vietnam has applied the Apostille Convention since 11 September 2026, but Kuwait is not a party, so documents between the two countries still follow the certification and legalisation chain described above.

Info Travel handles the whole chain: translation, notarisation, the Ministry/Department of Foreign Affairs stamp, and submitting and collecting files at the mission – see consular legalisation in Vietnam. Costs depend on the document type and page count; message us on WhatsApp +84327828822 for a quote.
