Embassy of Qatar in Hanoi: Address, Hours & Legalisation 2026

The Embassy of Qatar in Hanoi is at 43 Tran Hung Dao Street (Cua Nam Ward), phone +84 24 3943 0222, open Monday to Friday about 09:00–16:30 according to Google Maps. Qatar has no consulate general in Vietnam, so the embassy serves the whole country: it assists Qatari citizens and is also where Vietnamese companies and workers turn when they need documents for use in Qatar. Info Travel helps Qatari nationals in Vietnam with visas, extensions and exit procedures, and runs the full certification–legalisation–translation chain for documents going to Qatar; WhatsApp +84327828822.

Consular services for Qatari citizens

The embassy’s news pages (hanoi.embassy.qa) mostly cover diplomatic events, and its consular pages block automated access, so we could not verify the service list. In principle, the embassy is the contact point for Qatari citizens who:

  • lose a passport and need an emergency document to return home;
  • are involved in an accident, hospitalised or face legal trouble in Vietnam;
  • need documents certified for use in Qatar.

For Vietnamese individuals and businesses, the embassy is the usual address for legalising documents bound for Qatar (diplomas, contracts, certificates of origin, company papers). Ask directly for the current list, fees and requirements.

What to know before you visit

  • Call ahead for the document checklist and fees; Google Maps feedback suggests costs for a full file can be high, so budget accordingly.
  • Businesses in Ho Chi Minh City and the south should note that, according to visitor feedback, the embassy does not handle requests by post – someone must submit and collect in person in Hanoi.
  • Phone conversations are sometimes described as unhelpful; keep questions short, in English, and ask for instructions by email where possible.
  • Bring your passport or ID, originals and copies of the documents to be legalised, already stamped by the Vietnamese MOFA.
  • The embassy closes on Vietnamese and Qatari holidays (National Day 18 December, Eid holidays); hours may be shorter during Ramadan.

What foreigners typically need help with

Qatari passport lost. Report it at the ward police station and contact the embassy for a replacement document. Your Vietnamese visa was in the old passport, so you need a new visa or exit procedures before flying.

Staying longer than planned. Qatari visitors and investors can arrange a visa extension, an e-visa, or a temporary residence card for long-term work or investment; after a passport change, transfer the visa or card to the new passport.

Documents for Vietnamese workers going to Qatar. Degrees, trade certificates, police records and medical certificates usually go through consular certification in Vietnam, legalisation at the Qatari embassy, and may need further attestation by Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Doha. English or Arabic translations come via certified translation.

Export and corporate documents. Contracts, business registration certificates, certificates of origin and Halal certificates for use in Qatar commonly need legalisation too.

Help with Qatari passports in Vietnam

We could not verify whether the Qatari Embassy in Hanoi issues or renews passports locally. Qatari citizens normally obtain passports through the Ministry of Interior system at home; abroad, the embassy advises and can issue emergency travel documents when needed. Contact the embassy for your specific case.

Info Travel handles the Vietnamese side: extensions or a new visa while you wait, transfer of a visa or TRC to the new passport, exit procedures, translation and certification. You attend in person when the embassy requires; we assist only within what is permitted.

Consular legalisation, MOFA/DOFA certification and certified translation

Qatar is not a party to the Apostille Convention (HCCH status table). Although the Convention has applied to Vietnam since 11 September 2026, documents between Vietnam and Qatar still follow the traditional legalisation chain. See apostille vs consular legalisation.

a) Qatari documents for use in Vietnam: certification by the competent Qatari authority (Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and legalisation at the Vietnamese embassy in Doha; or certification by the Qatari embassy in Hanoi (if offered) followed by legalisation at the Consular Department (MOFA) or the HCMC Department of Foreign Affairs. Finish with a notarised Vietnamese translation. Legalisation is waived only where exempted under an international treaty.

b) Vietnamese documents for use in Qatar: consular certification at the Consular Department in Hanoi or the HCMC Department of Foreign Affairs → legalisation at the Qatari embassy in Hanoi (where accepted) → further attestation in Qatar if requested. Add English/Arabic translations as required.

Info Travel runs the full chain for clients in both the north and the south: translation, notarisation, MOFA/DOFA stamps, and in-person submission and collection at the Qatari embassy in Hanoi – which solves the “no postal submissions” problem. See our consular legalisation service; quotes on WhatsApp.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the Embassy of Qatar in Hanoi?

At 43 Tran Hung Dao Street, Hanoi; phone +84 24 3943 0222.

Can I use an apostille for documents going to Qatar?

No. Qatar has not joined the Apostille Convention, so consular certification and legalisation by the Qatari embassy are still required.

Do businesses in Ho Chi Minh City need to go to Hanoi?

Qatar has only its Hanoi embassy and, according to visitor feedback, does not accept postal requests, so someone must submit in person. Info Travel can collect your file in HCMC and submit it in Hanoi.

Do Qatari citizens need a visa for Vietnam?

Policy changes over time; Qatari nationals can currently apply for an e-visa. Contact Info Travel to check the latest rules.
