Consular services for Russian citizens
Da Nang and Nha Trang are two of the most popular destinations for Russian travellers, so the consulate regularly deals with:
- Notarised copies and other notarial acts – visitors say it is quick, and an electronic copy can even be issued so that a notary in Russia prints and certifies it without paper being posted.
- Assistance for travellers in trouble: lost documents, road accidents, hospital stays.
- Travel documents to return to Russia after a passport is lost.
- Russian visa applications, including family visas.
The full list appears when you choose a service in the booking system.
What to know before you go
- Book on the website first; reception is mornings only and ends at 11:30.
- No reception on Wednesdays.
- Visitors say the phone is reliably answered and instructions are clear – calling ahead to check which papers to bring saves a trip.
- Fees: you receive a receipt for the service and follow the payment instructions given on site; ask beforehand which payment methods are accepted.
- Bring your original passport and the documents to be certified.
- Closed on Vietnamese and Russian public holidays.
Common reasons foreigners contact their consulate in Vietnam
Passport lost in Da Nang, Hoi An or Nha Trang: get a police report where it happened, then request a travel document at the consulate. You will then need a visa or exit permit because the old visa is gone – Info Travel can handle the exit procedures so you make your flight.
Staying longer than planned: many Russians spend the season in central Vietnam; when your visa is ending, consider a visa extension, or a temporary residence card if you qualify (investment, work, marriage).
New passport: after renewal, transfer your visa/TRC into the new passport to avoid problems at departure.
Marriage, birth, work papers: Russian documents need an apostille and a notarised Vietnamese translation.
Family members visiting can apply for a Vietnam e-visa.
Help with a Russian passport in Vietnam
We could not verify whether the Da Nang consulate accepts passport applications, so we do not claim it. Check the booking system or phone; otherwise apply in Russia or at another mission, and request a travel document home in an emergency. Biometric passport applicants must attend in person.
Info Travel helps with forms, photos, translations and booking guidance, then transfers your visa/TRC to the new passport and handles immigration formalities – within what the consulate allows.
Consular legalisation, MOFA certification and notarised translation
The Apostille Convention has applied to Vietnam since 11 September 2026; Russia has been a party since 1992. Public documents between the two countries therefore follow the apostille route.
a) Russian documents for use in Vietnam: apostille from the competent Russian authority, then a notarised Vietnamese translation. Legalisation through the Vietnamese mission in Russia is only a fallback. Unless exempted under an international treaty, documents need an apostille or legalisation.
b) Vietnamese documents for use in Russia: apostille from the Consular Department of MOFA (Hanoi) or the HCMC Department of Foreign Affairs, with a Russian translation. If you are in Da Nang, Info Travel can submit for you – no trip to Hanoi or HCMC needed.
Info Travel provides the full package: translation, notarisation, apostille/consular certification, collection and return. See consular legalisation in Vietnam and apostille vs consular legalisation; quotes on WhatsApp.
